Boy Litjens

CEO, SABIC Europe

Boy LitjensBoy Litjens (b. 1951) studied economics at Tilburg University (the Netherlands). He held several financial positions in different international companies before joining DSM in 1988. He was business controller for engineering plastics and subsequently held managing positions in general management, control, finance, and strategic planning in the Netherlands, Germany, and France. In 1999, he became director of DSM's polypropylenes business unit. After SABIC acquired DSM's petrochemical activities in 2002, Boy Litjens joined the managing board of directors of SABIC Europe as its chief operating officer. He has held the position of CEO of SABIC Europe since September 9, 2006.

Abdullah Bazid

COO, SABIC Europe

Abdullah BazidAbdullah Bazid (b. 1955) graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia) with a bachelor's degree in applied civil engineering. He joined SABIC in 1979 and assumed various important management positions in projects, engineering, and R&T. Abdullah Bazid managed the execution of a number of major petrochemicals projects for SABIC, including the first flexible ethylene cracker and an integrated polyester site in Saudi Arabia. In 1999, he became the country manager of SABIC Japan. In 2001 and 2002, he played a key role in the acquisition of DSM's petrochemicals business and the establishment of SABIC Europe, with the subsequent integration of SABIC's activities in Europe, after which he joined the managing board of directors of SABIC Europe. He is managing director, chemicals and intermediates for SABIC Europe, and became COO of SABIC Europe on September 9, 2006.

Koos van Haasteren

Managing Director, Polymers, SABIC Europe

Koos van HaasterenAfter studying business economics at Rotterdam University (the Netherlands), Koos van Haasteren (b. 1960) began his professional career at KPMG in 1984. In 1987, he joined DSM. After various business positions in the fertilizer and engineering plastics businesses, he became a business manager for the polyethylenes group in 1995. In 1998, he became director of strategic planning, marketing and the film business of that group. In 2001, he became director of the LD/LLDPE business unit and the sales organization of DSM Petrochemicals (now SABIC Europe). After completing the sales and business integration for SABIC in Europe, he became managing director, polymers on January 1, 2004.
