Time to Market Cut as a Result of SABIC’s Precision Strain Hardening Test Method
Sittard, the Netherlands – May 7, 2012 – SABIC has developed a new method for high-speed evaluation of the slow crack growth resistance of high density polyethylene (HDPE) used for pressure pipes. The method will enable processors to benefit more quickly from new developments in general in HDPE for pipes, by cutting the time taken to bring a new material from the laboratory to the market.

SABIC’s bimodal HDPE family meets the increasing challenges of the film industry
Sittard, the Netherlands – May 2, 2012 – Production of high quality thin blown film is possible with a family of advanced bimodal high density polyethylenes (HDPE) from SABIC. There are currently two grades in the family, SABIC® HDPE FI0644 and a higher density grade with higher flow, SABIC® HDPE FI1157.

SABIC launches a multimillion euro investment project at Geleen production site
Geleen, the Netherlands – April 24, 2012 - Over the next eighteen months, SABIC will invest 135 million euros in safety, energy saving and environmental improvements at their production site in Geleen. The goal of the investment is to ensure a safer, more competitive and more energy efficient cracker, which is better for the environment. The upgrade project was officially launched on 11 April and will transform the Naphtha Olefins4 cracker into one of the best crackers in Europe in terms of safety, durability and cost efficiency. The Geleen investment fits in perfectly with SABIC’s growth strategy of being a top player in the chemical industry.

SABIC’s High-performance Polypropylene Resin Helps the Flux® Junior Provide a Playful, Kid-friendly Experience
Sittard, the Netherlands – 12 April 2012 – Every child loves pint-sized versions of their parents’ belongings. To fulfil those desires, Flux Furniture B.V. has created a miniature version of its award-winning foldable and portable Flux® Chair. In line with the adult model, the new Flux® Junior is moulded from durable, colourful and lightweight polypropylene (PP) resin from SABIC.
