CEO, SABIC Europe
Boy Litjens (b. 1951) studied economics at Tilburg University (the Netherlands). He held several financial positions in different international companies before joining DSM in 1988. He was business controller for engineering plastics and subsequently held managing positions in general management, control, finance, and strategic planning in the Netherlands, Germany, and France. In 1999, he became director of DSM's polypropylenes business unit. After SABIC acquired DSM's petrochemical activities in 2002, Boy Litjens joined the managing board of directors of SABIC Europe as its chief operating officer. He has held the position of CEO of SABIC Europe since September 9, 2006.
Mosaed Al Ohali
COO, SABIC Europe
Before his current position, Mr Al-Ohali was the Vice-President of the new Specialized Products strategic business unit, having previously been Vice-President of Fertilizers.
He is also Vice-Chairman of the Saudi Petrochemical Company (SADAF, a joint venture between SABIC and Shell) and is a member of the SABIC Research and Technology Executive Committee.
Mr Al-Ohali began his career with SADAF in September 1984 as a process engineer and member of the ethanol plant start-up team. He advanced through various positions in operations, technical services and planning within SADAF and became its president in March 1999. In 2004 Mr Al-Ohali was appointed SABICís Vice-President of Fertilizers, a role that he held until November 2006.
Mr Al-Ohali graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, where he gained a masterís degree in chemical engineering with the highest honors.
Managing Director, Polymers, SABIC Europe
After studying Industrial Engineering and Management Science at the Technical University of Eindhoven (the Netherlands), Huub Meessen (b. 1961) began his professional career at DSM in 1987 as a marketeer. After various business positions in logistics and marketing polyolefins, he became Director Demand Chain Management Polyolefins in 2001. In 2004, Huub Meessen was appointed Business Unit Director LDPE/LLDPE (now SABIC Europe). He became Managing Director, Polymers on June 1, 2008.
